30 Days of Jojo: Part 30

30: Why do you love Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure?

This is a very complicated question, but I suppose I can try to answer it as simply as possible.

Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure is not only creative and unique among shounen series, but it doesn’t seem to take itself as seriously as other anime/manga series. Its fans, (for the most part) also don’t take it too seriously and are generally good people. When I was searching for something different, something not tryhard and edgy, something with a unique style that didn’t make me roll my eyes, and something that wasn’t afraid to make me laugh, cry, and fume in anger all in the span of a single episode, Jojo was exactly what I needed.

Every fan has their opinions about what characters are the best, what ones they want to punch in the face, what art style they prefer and so on and so forth, but that doesn’t matter. The series itself is just brilliant.

To put it simply, I love just about everything!

29: If you could change something what would it be?

There are a couple things that bother me, but overall I think the series is absolutely brilliant and well written as it is. It’s enjoyable and great to read or watch and there are very few flaws I can find in i-

OH goddamnit, I forgot about Made in Heaven ruining everything.Yeah. That sucked. That really shouldn’t have happened. Pucci should have never been able to activate it. Time should not have stopped. The alternate timeline could have been some kind of bizzarro future or something related to time travel instead.

30 Days of Jojo: Day 28

28: A Character You Would Like to Know More About

There are so many characters I’d like to know more about, since there is so much character development that is skimped upon for many minor characters. I almost put the Pillar Men here yet AGAIN but then I remembered someone who barely had any character development.

Just who the heck IS Anne? What becomes of her? Why did she run away from home? Did she ever see the group of heroes again? I found her to be an interesting character and honestly would like to know more about her backstory and eventual whereabouts after the defeat of DIO.

30 Days of Jojo: Part 27

27: A character you wish was real

This might be an odd choice, not choosing any of my favorites, but honestly I wish Tonio Trussardi existed, and that he had a restaurant near where I live. Why? Because I LOVE food. I am a bonafide foodie. And the only thing better than good food is food that can cure what ails you and takes care of issues you may have, no matter how small. Did you get a paper cut? Eat some caprese salad. Stomach not so well? Spaghetti will take care of that. This would be absolutely amazing and I would be a happy customer.

30 Days of Jojo: Part 26

26: Favorite Line/Quote

How am I supposed to pick just one?! Who wrote these questions?! I honestly can’t decide because there are so many good quotes in this series. Although Joseph Joestar is a goldmine of ridiculous quotes, Gyro is as well, and the Pillar Men, and President Valentine, and so on and so forth. There are just too many to go around. Seriously, if you ever need a good one-liner, look no further than Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure.

30 Days of Jojo: Part 25

25: Something you wish happened but didn’t.

The only thing better than Pillar Men would be MORE Pillar men. Honestly I wish there was something about Kars and Esidisi raising the kids. Just how did Wamuu end up to become the upstanding gentleman he is? Why did Santana end up to be so quiet? What were their family dynamics? One can only speculate. I would have LOVED to have seen Araki’s vision for this goofy little family.

30 Days of Jojo: Part 24

24: Something you wished didn’t happen.

Pucci, we get it. You’re hopelessly devoted to Dio, but did you REALLY have to succeed at resetting the universe? This event basically renders the events of the previous volumes useless, which is kind of upsetting to me, being a fan of the earlier parts. Granted everyone had better lives in the new universe, but I feel like this was just a cop out and makes it seem like what happened for SO many volumes meant nothing.

30 Days of Jojo: Part 23

23: Most Annoying Character

I’ve already described just HOW annoying Narancia Ghirga is in the “least favorite character” post, but seriously, you don’t get more annoying than a squeaky voiced teenager who manages to be dumber than Polnareff. Granted, stupidity is not a gauge of likeability, but Narancia just…ugh.

30 Days of Jojo: Part 22

22: Funniest Character

Although there have been SEVERAL characters in Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure that have made me laugh, Joseph Joestar is without a doubt the cause of the majority of laughing fits. Of particular note is the scene where he dresses in drag to try to infiltrate a Nazi base, and again when he greets Santana with “Happy-py joy-py nice to meetcha-py!” He also decides to burst into song when first facing the other 3 Pillar Men. Even in Part 3, Joseph continues to be a barrel of laughs with his spontaneous loud outbursts of Engrish and unintentional hilarity. Even by Part 4 when he is extremely senile, he manages to have his moments.

Honorable Mention:

They say that part of comedy is suffering, or more accurately, enjoying the suffering of others. Jean Pierre Polnareff is a magnet for misfortune and this makes him hilarious. Due to not being very smart, he often finds himself in various predicaments including various “bathroom misadventures”. He also fancies himself a “ladies’ man”, leading to even more blunders. His charging blindly into danger also leads to funny moments such as his interactions with Enya Geil and of course, the situation with Hol Horse and Boingo.

30 Days of Jojo: Part 21

21: Favorite Chapter

What? WHAT?! It’s damned near impossible to pick a SINGLE favorite chapter, especially in something as spanning as Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure. So…I’m just going to put Every Chapter in Battle Tendency as my answer because this is a VERY oddly specific question. I mean Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure has what…almost 1,000 chapters?!

Yeah, I can’t pick just one. Forget it.
